We are pleased to announce that on the 3rd of May 2006 the owners of Universal Imaging Ltd, sold the company and all its assets to Roper Industries Ltd. in the UK. In effect Universal Imaging Ltd. has become part of Photometrics and will henceforth trade as Photometrics UK.

The life-sciences imaging market has, over the past few years, evolved away from simple camera and software sales into a market where integrated imaging systems of ever greater complexity are required. Universal Imaging Ltd. has enjoyed considerable success in this market place, and by joining Photometrics and the other companies under the Roper umbrella (Princeton Instruments/Acton Research, Media Cybernetics, Optical Insights and QImaging), Photometrics UK will be better placed to supply and support even the most complex and demanding bio-imaging systems.
